In October 2026, Sports Fans Travel brought Washington fans across the Atlantic for DC Takes London, hosted by Brian Orakpo and DeAngelo Hall. The weekend combined some of England’s best-known sights, time with two Washington favorites, and the Commanders’ matchup with the Indianapolis Colts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

For our four-night flight-package guests, the adventure started straight from Heathrow with a visit to Windsor Castle. After an overnight flight, there was time to stretch their legs and take in a little royal history before heading to The Marble Arch Hotel by Thistle.

With daily breakfast included and Oxford Street, Hyde Park, and the Tube nearby, the hotel made a convenient home base for the weekend. Scheduled coaches handled the group events, while free time gave guests room to explore London their own way.

Two Washington Favorites. A Proper London Welcome.

Friday evening brought everyone together at Doggett’s Coat & Badge for the Burgundy & Gold Pep Rally. An appetizer-style buffet, an open bar, a DJ, and Brian Orakpo and DeAngelo Hall made it a fitting start to the football weekend.

Traveling with fellow fans gives a trip its energy. Getting time with the players they cheered for makes it personal. From conversations and guest photos to the big tailgate group shot, the hosts were part of what made this London weekend memorable.

And there was plenty of London still to come. Saturday left the morning open for sightseeing before the group headed to the South Bank for the London Eye and Happy Hour on the Thames.

The London Eye brought the group above the city for a different perspective on the weekend’s surroundings. Then it was a walk across the bridge to Tattershall Castle, where Happy Hour came with an appetizer-style buffet, an open bar, and views across the river.

With the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben in the background, the group photos captured the trip perfectly: Washington fans, burgundy and gold, and a London setting worth crossing the Atlantic for.

The sightseeing package also included hop-on hop-off bus access throughout the stay, a Thames cruise, and admission to attractions including Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE London Aquarium, Shrek’s Adventure!, and the London Dungeon. Guests had plenty of options for their free time, especially Monday’s full day to explore.

Sunday Started With the Tailgate

Game day began at Tottenham Community Sports Centre, where our four-hour tailgate brought fans together with Brian Orakpo and DeAngelo Hall before kickoff.

The food lineup went well beyond a quick pregame bite: wood-fired pizza, burgers, Southern mac and cheese, falafel, hot dogs, continental breakfast, and desserts. A full drinks package, a DJ, tailgate games, and a photo booth kept the celebration moving throughout the morning.

There were guest photos with the hosts, jerseys held up for the camera, and a crowd ready to take its colors into Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Then, after a weekend of castles, river views, and pep rally celebrations, it was time for Commanders football.

2026 London Game: Commanders vs. Colts Recap

The Indianapolis Colts defeated the Washington Commanders 30–13 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 4, 2026.

Washington opened with a 6–0 lead, but an injury to Marcus Mariota brought rookie quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis into the game. Indianapolis led 10–6 at halftime before pulling away after the break.

Kaliakmanis gave Washington fans a moment to celebrate with a 47-yard touchdown pass to Treylon Burks, cutting the deficit to 17–13. The Colts answered with the game’s final 13 points, while Jonathan Taylor finished with two rushing touchdowns.

It was a disappointing result for the Burgundy & Gold. Away from the scoreboard, the weekend had given fans time with two Washington legends, a city full of sights, and a chance to follow their team across the Atlantic. Read the official game recap.

The best tailgate in town! Josh was outstanding on site. We could not ask for a better host. He was always there to take care of us and answer any questions. My favorite memory was receiving the autographed Brian Orakpo jersey at the gameday tailgate and meeting new friends.

Dublin trip 2026

We chose Sports Fans Travel because of the itinerary. It was more than a football game — it was a thoughtfully curated Australian adventure. We tried kangaroo pie, stopped on a dark road to see the Milky Way and the Southern Cross, fed wallabies in the Blue Mountains, took in the Opera House from a ferry, and hung out with 49ers QB and Pro Bowler Jeff Garcia, who was so approachable and a great choice for our host. Josh and Zack were always there and took care of everyone and everything — nothing was too small or unimportant. That's what made it such a good value, and why we'll book with Sports Fans Travel again without hesitation.
