In November 2023, Sports Fans Travel partnered with Big Game Travel to bring 100+ Kansas City Chiefs faithful to Frankfurt, Germany for one of the most electric fan experiences either organization had ever put together. Hosted by Chiefs legend Dante Hall, the long weekend was packed from the moment wheels touched down — a guided tour of the medieval Heidelberg Castle, a free afternoon exploring Frankfurt,

a private river cruise along the Main with food, drinks, and a DJ, a private hop-on/hop-off city tour, a rooftop Pep Rally with sweeping views of the Frankfurt skyline, and an all-inclusive gameday tailgate before watching the Chiefs take the field on German soil for the first time. For 100+ Chiefs fans who made the trip, it was a long weekend they'll never stop talking about.

Frankfurt doesn't get nearly enough credit as a travel destination — and this group found that out firsthand. The city's financial district towers sit just blocks from centuries-old cathedrals and cobblestoned squares, and the food and drink scene along the riverfront is world-class. The trip started with a day excursion to Heidelberg, a fairy-tale German city that feels like it was plucked straight from a storybook, where the group toured a castle that has been standing since the 1300s. The undisputed highlight of the pre-game week though was the private river cruise along the River Main — the Frankfurt skyline glittering in the background, drinks flowing, a DJ keeping the energy up, and Dante Hall right there in the middle of it all. It was the kind of evening that has nothing to do with football and everything to do with why people travel in the first place.
Gameday was everything 50 Chiefs fans had been building toward all weekend. The group loaded buses to an all-inclusive tailgate just steps from the stadium — Viennese Schnitzel, Bratwurst, BBQ Chicken and Ribs, German beer, andlegends holding court

as the excitement built toward kickoff. When the march to the stadium began, red and gold filled the streets of Frankfurt in a scene that felt more like a playoff run than a regular season game. There's nothing quite like watching your team play in a foreign country — the pride, the novelty, the sense that you're witnessing something that very few fans ever get to experience. In Frankfurt, Chiefs Kingdom showed up and showed out.

Day 1 – Departure from Kansas City Flights departed Kansas City as the Chiefs Kingdom crew officially kicked off a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to Germany.
Day 2 – Arrival in Frankfurt Touched down in Frankfurt, checked in, and started exploring one of Germany's most dynamic cities.
Day 3 – Heidelberg Castle Day Trip A full-day excursion to the stunning medieval city of Heidelberg — a guided "Life at Court" tour of the iconic castle, free time to explore the charming old town, and a scenic coach ride back to Frankfurt in the afternoon.
Day 4 – Free Day + Private River Cruise A leisurely morning to explore Frankfurt at your own pace, followed by an unforgettable private river cruise along the Main — food, drinks, a DJ, and Dante Hall onboard for one of the most memorable evenings of the entire trip.
Day 5 – Private Hop-On/Hop-Off + Rooftop Pep Rally A private guided city tour of Frankfurt in the morning, followed by the Chiefs Kingdom Pep Rally at City Alm — a rooftop Alpine hut with panoramic Frankfurt skyline views, an open bar, food, a photo booth, and a DJ to set the stage for gameday.

Day 6 – Historic Gameday An all-inclusive tailgate just steps from the stadium — Schnitzel, Bratwurst, German beer, and Dante Hall leading the charge — followed by a march to Deutsche Bank Park to watch the Kansas City Chiefs play on German soil.

Patrick Mahomes delivered when it mattered most, throwing two first-half touchdown passes and watching his defense put the game away with one of the most spectacular plays of the entire NFL season. With the Dolphins threatening late in the first half, cornerback Trent McDuffie stripped the ball from Tyreek Hill, Mike Edwards scooped it up, lateraled to Bryan Cook, and Cook took it 59 yards to the house — putting Kansas City up 21-0 and effectively silencing what had been the NFL's highest-scoring offense. The first-ever NFL regular season game in Frankfurt was off to a historic start, and Chiefs Kingdom was in full voice.
Miami made it interesting in the second half, cutting the deficit to 21-14 on a Tua Tagovailoa touchdown pass and a Raheem Mostert scoring run set up by a Bradley Chubb strip-sack of Mahomes. But the Dolphins' comeback fell agonizingly short when Tagovailoa couldn't handle a snap on fourth-and-10 with just over a minute to play, sealing a 21-14 Chiefs victory. For 50 Chiefs fans who had spent the week touring castles, cruising the River Main, and partying on a Frankfurt rooftop, watching Kansas City grind out a win on German soil was the perfect ending to an unforgettable long weekend.
