In September 2025, Sports Fans Travel took over Dublin in a big way — bringing 350+ die-hard Steelers faithful across the Atlantic for one of the most unforgettable trips in the company's history. Hosted by Steelers legend Joey Porter — with special guest appearances by Brett Keisel— the week was equal parts history and party: tours of the Guinness Storehouse and Jameson Distillery, a raucous Night Before Pep Rally in the heart of Temple Bar, and an all-inclusive gameday tailgate steps from Croke Park — all building to the moment Pittsburgh faced off against the Minnesota Vikings in the first-ever NFL game played on Irish soil. It wasn't just a trip. It was a takeover.
Gameday was something else entirely. The festivities kicked off early with a pre-party in the heart of Dublin before 350+ black and gold faithful piled onto buses bound for an all-inclusive tailgate just a short walk from the stadium — open bar, DJ, and live music setting the tone for what was about to unfold. When 2pm hit, the group made their march to Croke Park, one of the most iconic venues in the world, for a moment that no one in attendance will ever forget: the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings making history as the first NFL teams to ever play on Irish soil. The crowd was loud, the stakes were high, and for one Sunday in Dublin, it felt like Pittsburgh had relocated 3,000 miles east.
Day 1 – Departure to Ireland Flights departed the U.S. as the Sports Fans Travel crew officially kicked off a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to the Emerald Isle.
Day 2 – Arrival in Dublin Touched down in Dublin, checked in, and toasted the trip's beginning with a champagne welcome breakfast before getting out to explore the city.
Day 3 – Cliffs of Moher + Galway A full-day tour through some of Ireland's most breathtaking scenery — the iconic Cliffs of Moher, a drive along the Wild Atlantic Way, and free time exploring the cobblestoned streets of Galway City.
Day 4 – Guinness & Jameson Guided tours of two of Ireland's most legendary institutions, capped off with whiskey tastings, cocktails, and a pint at the Gravity Bar overlooking all of Dublin.
Day 5 – Happy Hour with Joey Porter & Brett Keisel A hosted welcome happy hour with Steelers legends Joey Porter and Brett Keisel — drinks, appetizers, and good company in the heart of Dublin.
Day 6 – Night Before Pep Rally A full takeover of one of Temple Bar's most electric venues — open bar, live music, ping pong, pool tables, and both Joey Porter and Brett Keisel closing out the night alongside 350+ Steelers faithful.
Day 7 – Historic Game Day An all-inclusive gameday tailgate just steps from the stadium with open bar, DJ, and live music, followed by the march to Croke Park to witness the first-ever NFL game played on Irish soil.
Day 8 – Departure from Dublin One last morning in the city before buses departed for the airport, closing out an unforgettable week in Ireland.
The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Minnesota Vikings 24-21 in the NFL’s first-ever regular-season game in Ireland, held at Dublin’s Croke Park on September 28, 2025, before a sold-out crowd of 74,512. Aaron Rodgers threw for 200 yards and a touchdown, while Kenneth Gainwell and DK Metcalf led the offense to a 14-6 halftime lead.
Taylor was great! We had a great time and made several new friends. We appreciated the options for hotels.we are frequent travelers but thought the tips were well thought out for those who may not travel often or who have traveled internationally before.
